Triad of Wernicke’s Encephalopathy

Classical clinical symptoms of Wernicke’s Encephalopathy:

  • Encephalopathy (i.e disorientation, inattentiveness)
  • Oculomotor dysfunction (i.e typically bilateral horizontal nystagmus, lateral rectus palsy)
  • Gait ataxia (May appear wide-based and slow)
